CCB = Chevy Chase Bank
expected to be announced today the selling of naming rights for the football field for 25 years at a cost of $20 million. Starting this season it should be referred to Chevy Chase Field at Byrd Stadium.

My new roomate and her boyfriend (both UMD) were complaining about that as well this morning.
I was sad to stop over in Toronto a few months ago and find that they SkyDome is now the Rogers Center....I hate that side of sports.

The old one was an eyesore. They need to get rid of that faux testudo on the field, too. How sacrilegious.

I hate that side of sports. You and me both. It was ok to be forced to name things after alumni at universities. That's jut the way things are supposed to be. But whoever started this trend with naming rights needs to be hunted down, drawn, and quartered. It's a menace to the good name of beating the crap out of your opponents. Money or no. It's not worth it.

Walsh, had you been around for the previous "press and admin box" you'd totally disagree. The old one was an eyesore. I don't doubt that, I'd just rather see grand stands on both sides of the field with the press/luxury boxes inbetween the levels since we're expanding

Yet another reason that a certain Big Ten school is the best.....We are the only school where the basketball arena is named for a past university president, and the library is named for the football coach!!!

I agree with the naming rights crap...
Jack Kent Cook Stadium was so fitting until Snyder came along and wanted no part of it. I mean the Jack is a much cooler name then Fedex Field

1. So if we all got the money together, we could rename the field around the monument as the DC Star fields at the Washington Monument? 2. Nittany Bella - That's a little F-ed up if you ask me... Why don't they just rename the stadium... where are the priorities? Kidding 3. I'm waiting for the Hokies to sell out... right now, though we're safe, but have the double name... Lane Stadium/Worsham Field 4. Go Hokies!! One more week until football season starts!!!!!!!
