Again, awfully confident in my Hokies to cover that many pts... but, I've got faith!  However, if UMD played as bad as they did against WVU in the first half, they might not be able to cover... that's the only one i'm really leery about... |

I think FIU's been around for at least 3 years. Just from referenceing espn.com's bottom 10 over the years.
it was enough that last year they merged FIU and FAU into the same listing in the bottom 10

Monday Night Pick
Atlanta -4 @ New Orleans
The first game after Katrina hit New Orleans, the Saints defeated the Carolina Panters in a big upset last year. Their moviation was for the Gulf Coast area and you saw it in their play. A lot of loot is going on the Falcons and their incredible ground game. I expect some fireworks to fly tonight. At worst, it will be a close Atlanta victory. This is New Orleans time to shine. PICK - SAINTS +4 I gotta go the other way on this one - better defense on the Falcons' side of the ball, plus the option play where Vick can pass, run it himself or hand it off to Warrick Dunn is just too potent for the Saints to cover. I know there will be a lot of emotion, but that won't save 'em. |

I am with you to a point Steve. Emotion doesnt put points on the board, but that is what happened when NO stunned Carolina in last year's opener. I was on the fence about this one, so it wouldn't be crazy if ATL kicks their butt.

On the fence, but on the right side as New Orleans didn't give Vick and Dunn a chance to get the rushing train going. DAGGER! It puts me even for the week. Yay!

It was really touching, but no tear. I wish they would hype up more charities during the broadcast. U2 and Green Day was really cool.
It does bring back a good point. After this game, they still need help. So many people have been displaced, there isn't a timetable for them to partiallly recover from Katrina.
