I thought the judges got it right. De La Hoya was trying to brawl and just flailing with punches, Mayweather was actually boxing. It also made me happy cause I called it right.

You called Mayweather in a split desicion?
I picked De La Hoya in a split desicion. I agree that Mayweather scored much better than De La Hoya, but Oscar was the only one punching.
Mayweather had no offense.
Judge 1 had De La Hoya 115-113 Judge 2 had Mayweather 115-113 Judge 3 had Mayweather 116-112
From the scores, it was clear Mayweather didn't run away with this fight. Some rounds De La hoya's flurries happened at the beginning of the rough, but not much else happened. Hence giving the rough to Floyd. Oscar fought a decent fight and did what he could to score big on Mayweather.
It didn't hurt that De La Hoya made 25 million. Mayweather only made 10 million. haha, chump change....

Nah, just had Mayweather winning.
I agree that Oscar punched a lot more than Mayweather, but Mayweather was actually connecting with his. De La Hoya threw 100 more power punches and connected with 50 fewer. In my opinion, the only times Oscar did well was when Mayweather would be on the ropes and he'd start flailing, most of the time being blocked. Think there was one round De La Hoya stole when he got a quick flurry in at the end when he was being dominated in the rest of the round, but not sure about that one (not sure if it was actually stolen and can't remember which round it was).

That is the part not many people saw. Mayweather connecting with a lot of punches in defense of De La Hoya's offense. His flurries were nothing great. But it goes to show that great defense will not get you a clear victory. If De La Hoya stole another round, we are talking draw.
Not sure if you saw the Jermaine Taylor - Winky Wright fight, Winky is very similar to Mayweather. He would have WON the fight if he even tried in the last round. Instead it was a draw. It was actually a better fight than De La Hoya/Mayweather.
