The Social/ Charity girls are working on putting together a date auction for EOS, with the proceeds benefitting our charity KEEN. Details will come soon, but I wanted to get some feedback from you guys.
We're thinking that each person being auctioned off would be responsible for choosing a cool date and paying for it, so people would not only be bidding on the person but the date.
Any early nominations or volunteers to be auctioned off? We've already approached a couple people but ideally would like 5 guys and 5 girls. Talk amongst yourselves (or email or message me if you don't want the world to know you volunteered!)

Ugh. That means you have to find a venue and a crowd that will afford you the time and sound system to conduct an auction. I'm not sure DC Star has that kind of attention span and we've not been in places where that was a possibility.
What about doing something shorter that doesn't require the volunteer to pay to be a volunteer like doing a "shirt off your back" auction. I'm sure we could get a few area stores to donate about 10 shirts that could be auctioned off much easier and quicker... plus with a "winner gets to take the shirt off your back" incentive, people might actually shut up and listen. LOL
Chad and I were talking about having Sleeveless Gentry play at the EOS. Maybe we could partner these two events and use SG's sound system to run the auction...

Oh, and have you checked with Donnie/WAKA to make sure they don't have issues with this type of event on PC or legal grounds??

I will check with Donnie but other divisions have done similar events so I doubt it would be a problem. Honestly, WAKA doesn't care that our Mistress League is taking the charity money and giving it to TNT participants towards their individual fundraising goals so I doubt they would care about this. In terms of interest, we already have a handful of people who want to do it - and would pay for said auctionees. If the overall DC Star consensus is that no one other than this (what I thought was representative) group is interested, then we will can the event. We already have a venue with a contract, but thanks for trying to plan the event for us. Also, if you are coming up with ideas for a party you're not planning, please talk to the organizers first! (smooches Patrick, you know I love you!)

(smooches Patrick, you know I love you!) Wasn't planning it. Chad and I were chatting about finding him a venue and I suggested that we talk to social about EOS as a possibility. Don't worry, I won't try to help anymore.

The hardest part of a date auction is getting people to bid. But I'm pretty sure WAKA is fine with them as well.
Shirt off your back would certainly be entertaining. Maybe in Token's case, people can bid to make him keep it on.
What's the venue btw?

We did this several seasons ago. Why don't you make the date auction a silent auction? You can have a wall with polaroids of the auctionees and people can place bids on paper.

Of course, if you got the right women to participate, a shirt of your back auction is an even snazzier idea. I can totally see the men of DC Star going for that one.

Hahaha....why did I get tossed into that one??
So only 5 people? Let me gues....Matt Allen, Scott and 3 guys from Below Us?
How come its limited? You should try and get a guy and girl from each team...mainly to try and get some of the less social and/or new teams to participate.
PS....is there any limit for the Flamers? They CAN bid on guys, gay or straight, right? Let's say Adam bids $100 on MA...wins...MA has to go on the date, right???

Yeah....it will be people we don't expect I'm sure. I know MA won't do it either, and I think most of the boys in black would be against it too. They might be down for taking some shirts off, but the dating think...not so much.
Walsh maybe? Wes from D-Balls? Wellin? Faberman....lol!!!
Kimmie, LJ and the rest of Orange are probably out. I doubt any TK girls would do it. And for girls....hmmm...Andrea and a few other Outsiders? Kelsey on S&A would get some bids I bet.
