From the newsie email:
We don't get free kegs for the pre-season party? Then I submit that it's not really a party, but a normal after-kickball gathering at Irish Times. Don't get me all excited about a party then dash my hopes like that!

It is now a party.
We will have two free kegs downstairs starting at 530. We couldnt announce it becase the Times gave us new rules that say we cannot buy kegs on kickball days. Thanks to Donnie though, he was able to negociate two kegs.
I found this out after I sent out the notice.

Bleh, I maintain that it was just a normal kickball drinking event. We had the late game, and when we got to the bar, I only got 2 beers before the kegs were kicked and we had to buy our own. Next time buy more beer cause last night sucked.

I had a great time last night, but I would agree that it seemed like a normal kickball night and the kegs did seem to run out awfully fast. I know that I paid for all of my pitchers, and even when I got there after the late game...my teammates said they paid for pitchers.
Did we actually get any free beer?
So...any good stories, rumors, etc from last night? I think that 1829 has finally lost their spot as Least Social Team or Party Poopers...Army of Skanks seemed like they ate and then left. Maybe I just didnt pay attention.
And last but not least....my Waldo Socks were the talk of the league!! E'ry1 loved them!! HOTNESS!!!!

I think my team managed to snag free beer at least for our official flippy match, but it was out soon after that. Could be because we were some of the first to get downstairs.

I was able to snag 1 free pitcher before the free beer ran out. I know we are all appreciative of any free beer we can get but we should try and find a way to get more then 2 kegs as there are 16 teams this season.

Yeah, something didn't seem quite right with the beer situation. I mean, I was under the assumption that the kegs started flowing at 6 or 6:30pm....once ALL the teams had time to finish their games, get to the bar and maybe eat.
Nonetheless, my tab at the end of the night wasn't bad or anything. The bartenders at the bar always seem to hook me up very well.
Did anyone get to check out the Army of Skanks....both their talent on and off the field? Does their exclamation of DC Gold champs hold any truth to it? Did they look THAT good? I'm just trying to get some skinny on them, as they're my next victims :-)

In addition to my previous statement....are they going to be a challenge for Below Us. Obviously 1829 was not...10-0.

Or if we have limited free kegs, then limit the number of free pitchers each team gets... and then figure out a way to regulate...

Blame this one on the times. They won't let us buy kegs for parties on regular kickball nights anymore.
I think we got a pitcher or two, but paid for the rest. And while I had fun last night, it did just seem like a regular spring season kickball night early in the season.
We met the new Army of Skanks. Didn't see them play, but heard they kicked some Your Mom @ss... =) I watched them play Flipcup. They looked good. Not sure how good they'll be at that... they beat the pants off Your Mom on the tables, too. But they did seem like a cool team.

Not to be a b.i.t.c.h. or anything, but we're trying our best to deal with s.hit being thrown at us.
THANK YOU to Donnie for begging the Times to sell us two kegs for Sunday. Otherwise, your bitch-asses were just going to get two free pitchers from teh division, which cost us more, and means less money spent on you all in the long run. I realize that some only got one or two pitchers, but with 16 teams and a lot of people, two kegs goes REALLY fast.
The rule is that the Times will not sell kegs to us on regular kickball days. Meaning Sundays for us. We are able to buy kegs on non-kickball days for parties. If you know, we get keg(s) donated from teh Times for our charity party each season. That is not a problem.
Please try to ask appropriate question instead of just bitching on the boards... I'm not able to get on here as much these days to respond in a timely manner.
So, in summary, we got "only" two kegs, because that is what we were able to beg the times to sell to us. Not our call.... we're dealing with what they give us as rules.
Thanks for understanding.
