Yeah, baby! It's only a half a block off the metro, so it's really not THAT far into the Commonwealth. I shouldn't breakout too badly while I'm over there...
But, do I still need my Passport??

I think part of arlington was part of DC at some point..... there is a marker in a park near my house that was part of the orignial DC or something. But, patrick, you odn't need a passport... just make sure you've gotten your democratic shots... don't want to catch a conservative disease from a virginian.

Wasnt that part of VA owned by DC at some point anyway...I mean its still VA, but at least it was part of DC for a little while...right? Virginia gifted the land now known as Alexandria (the bottom of the "DC Diamond" to the Federal Government in about 1790 to forgive the South its wartime debts, thus completing Jefferson's plan to have a "southern" federal capital city. In 1847, the Federal Government ceded the land back to Virginny as Alexandria decided that they could spur better economic development through THEIR slave trade over Georgetown's unfairly tilted playing field. And you can see the marker at the lower point of the diamond. It is in Jones Point Park just south of the new Wilson Bridge. So, in short, YES is the answer to your quesiton. =)

Oh I was pretty sure of it to begin with, no diagrams needed. Just saying that if you HAVE to go into VA, at least its part that at some point was DC.

And if it WERE still part of DC, we'd have full voting rights by now...
