My RCN DVR is pretty great. For $13 month I have maybe 40 hours and a dual band recorder. I do have problems with it recording a new episode several times if it replays that week but that's easy enough for me to fix.
It's seriously revolutionized my life - I can't believe I used a VCR until May! I think I'm going to start watching much more tv. There are just so many good new shows this season!
And somewhere in this thread we're discussing HH - looking forward to getting one more roof deck HH in this year!

I have the RCN dual band recorder too - greatest thing ever since it can record two channels at once.
and yeah I get about five "New" Project Runways on it, but all it takes is a quick delete and thats just cuz they market them as New and not as repeat.
And one more roof deck HH would be great - as long as I can actually make it.

The best thing to do is what Troy and I have. We have a computer running Microsoft Media Edition. It has a built in DVR and it is completely free. No monthly fees. It just downloads all the schedule stuff from the internet. Much better than either Tivo or a DVR from a cable company because you can customize it to do anything you want.
And if it doesn't do what you want, you can download plugins that people make themselves.
And just today, we ordered an HDTV capture card which will allow us to record programming in High Definition.

Or you could be like me and Jon and have BOTH TiVo AND Windows Media Center...
The day the Best Buy opens across the street from us in Columbia Heights will be the day I lose him as he surrounds himself for all eternity by new electronics.

I think there might even be some episodes of McGuyver shoved in between columbos and robot chickens.

I can't wait to for my TiVo/DVR thing to show up next weekend when Dishnetwork comes to install everything. And MA I totally will have MacGyver, A-Team, Knight Rider and all the other great shows from that era saved on mine.

We have this Friday off. Everyone will need to be in top form on Saturday, for whichever party they attend. p.s. when i think the stars change color before i get a new one.

It looks like all the Kickers (100+ posts) have 3 yellow stars...then you get a 4th, then it goes to 1 green star. Why is a green star better than a gold star? Odd...
