I love the Big Hunt but it's awkward for larger groups. The space is more conducive to smaller parties. God, DC needs some interesting new bars. I am so tired of the current selection. What about Wonderland in Columbia Heights? Relatively new, near the metro (2 blocks east), and supposedly the new place to be. It's got a nice patio...seems pretty laid back. My sister, who lives and works in Massachusetts, said she was invited to a party in DC at Wonderland...I was like um...interesting...

Our decision has been made--Buffalo Billiards, next Wednesday at 6:00. An announcement will be in the newsletter and we will be sending an evite to team captains shortly. WHOO HOOO! I'll break out the pool cue! Give the manager a buzz and let her/him know you have a larger group coming and maybe they'll do something for ya.

Someone notify the Jester.

Like everyone else you just want for it to be close to your place.

oh yeah, Wonderland. I go there with my friends who play ultimate. I always forget about that place. Well, next time, perhaps.

Hey it fit the criteria of being relatively new and accomodating of a decent sized group. I only know about it cause I live next to it. ;D

The evite has been sent. If you are a team captain and have not yet received it, please send me a private message with your email address and I will add you to the evite, which you can pass along to your team.

There are some other cool places around Gallery Place, too. I'd love to go to the Matchbox, but the place is too damned small and it's SRO after 6pm. Food's awesome, though. La Tasca? Zatayah? Clydes? Chop House? Whoa, you could never put our kickball crowd in Matchbox or Clydes for a happy hour without 1/2 of them getting kicked out There's also Austin Grill, which even has the late night happy hour if people never leave. Agreed that late night at Cap City was awesome. Now it's basically the grill or Uno's (joy.)

I've heard good things about Wonderland....I've definitely gotta try it out sometime.
I'll also second that Austin Grill is a good place for HH if you like tequila shots and margaritas. I can't remember the day...maybe Wednesday....but they have super specials one day a week.

Wasn't bad. Well except for Drina slapping across me across the face with her pool cue....thank goodness I had my glasses on or I might've gone blind! ;D

The boards have been so quiet lately...how was the HH? Yeah, where is everyone. I mean, I know LadyOfTheFlame is on a business trip, but feline? blue? marvin? aspey? jasonf? Where y'all be? We be bored! The happy hour was nice and calm. BB was a lot less crowded than I imagined it would be. It was a lot of the regular lushes uh... I mean... DC Happy Hour Attendees. And thanks to T-Rizz (I laugh every time I say that) for the Kamikaze shot. YUM!!! I stumble out to the bus stop thanks to you!

Despite the lack of people compared to what was on the Evite we sent out, I had a great time just chatting with everyone, bashing our jobs, tossin some darts and shooting some pool.
And surprisingly, even with a round of 10 shots, my tab wasn't too bad at the end of the night!!
