okay being the big nerd I am, I was thinking about Battlestar and how the ships must be made of unobtainium to be able to take a nuke to the side of em and not have a big chunk of the ship missing. damn engineering degree.

LOL. I think it's more the unemployment than the ME. LOL Don't they have allpowerfulandreflective shields on the Battlestars? Cause how would they withstand all the atomic particles ramming their ships at FTL speeds?? and well at sub-light speeds, too. Damned sci-fi reading era of my life!!

ah yeah forgot that I shouldn't worry about stuff like nuke damage when FTL travel is involved.

I don't watch Battlestar Galactica, but maybe they just have really thick steel or aluminum hulls on the ships. In fact NASA did some study on a nuclear propulsion spaceship. It could be feasible. It was called Project Orion. The Orion design would have worked by dropping fission or thermonuclear explosives out the rear of a vehicle, detonating them 200 feet (60 m) out, and catching the blast with a thick steel or aluminum pusher plate. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Orion_%28nuclear_propulsion%29

Damned sci-fi reading era of my life!! And you call other people out for being nerds? I called him out for continually proving his "geekiness." =) I just do it when I get bored. He does it ALL the time... LOL See the previous post. I rest my case.

Here we go! Wikipedia says: A cumulus cloud (Cu) is a cloud belonging to a class characterized by puffs, mounds or towers, with flat bases and tops that often resemble cauliflower. They are formed in the troposphere at a lower altitude than altocumulus, usually below 8,000 feet (2,400 m). "Cumulus" is Latin for "filth", related to "accumulation". They occur at heights of 1,640 to 19,685 feet (500–6,000 m) in elevation from the Earth and most often occur scattered or in dense heaped packs. They are formed by convection. Buoyant, upward air currents known as thermals rise to a height at which the moisture in the air can condense. Because of this, the clouds grow vertically instead of horizontally. For this reason, cumulus clouds are useful to glider pilots seeking to stay aloft for long periods. Though most common in warm summer weather, cumulus clouds can be formed at any time of year. If conditions are right, cumulus clouds can grow into cumulonimbus clouds, which bring thunderstorms. SOURCE*: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumulus_cloud* cause we don't want MA to go off on one of his rampages about us making stuff up!! =) OMG, don't even get me started on using wikipedia as a legitimate source. The site where any idiot can write whatever the hell they want. www.wikitruth.info/However, for simple concepts like this cloud example, I think wikipedia is an excellent starting point, and usually has pretty accurate info, as long as you realize that this is probably just someone summing something up, and if you want to make sure you have the facts correct, look elsewhere.

I haven't really looked into it yet but I think we can choose which tv shows to include so we're not stuck guessing random characters from random shows no one watches.
