i feel like the word evil has been overused lately. one mans evil is another mans good. That's what the bad guys always say. You're totally running a Doctor Evil-inspired operation to destroy the planet, aren't you, silk?

the word evil is just over-used by our current administration not necessarily the world as a whole, but that's a whole other matter entirely.

Patrick and Leslie -
I, too, starting reading Wicked before I caught the musical, and it was just exhausting to read. But, it was nice that I got through the first part of the book, b/c the musical skips Elphaba's entire childhood and goes straight to their first day at school.... so, it was nice I had the background from the book to understand parts of the musical.
I loved the musical, but am not interested to finish the book.... is that bad of me? Maybe I'll get Patrick's notes.... but, I do want to try some of his other books.

Maybe I'll get Patrick's notes.... but, I do want to try some of his other books. 1) What happened to your beloved numbering system, eh? 2) Yes, it was bad of you. By chucking the book, you both totally missed three very key points of Elphaba's past, future, and basis for why she is green. 3) I tried reading Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister but just couldn't manage the first 10 pages. I was bored. 4) I'm reading Son of a Witch more out of obligation now than desire to read it. I just want to find out what happens due to the end of Wicked and how Liir turns out. I don't care for the author's tone nor his uppity style. He speaks in arcane language in many places in ways that just make him look like he's flaunting his vocabulary rather than a desire to create beautiful prose. 5) If you want to know what happened at the end, PM me and I'll tell ya. =) No spoilers here!

I didn't read this thread all the way, but did anyone else see the Wizard of Oz Part 2, Return to Oz, movie?? www.imdb.com/title/tt0089908/It had Fauriza Balk...from The Craft, Waterboy, Almost Famous...as Dorothy. I found it actually a little scarier and less suitable for kids when I saw it at age 10 or so. One day I remembered it and bought it on DVD.
