But yes...there definitely needs to be side talk about refs not showing up. There should be something in the write-up. All 26 players of Below Us certainly didn't goto the wedding. They could have provided 2 refs. 1829 could have had 2 people show up on time as well. I really don't wanna be an ass, but had we not won, I would have seriously pushed for the forfeit win b/c I was frantic trying to set-up fields, set up games on fields, as well as refs on fields.
And although Your Mom did eventually have a ref show up, they too should be given a talking too. All three teams should be given a warning privately.
Additionally, Take It Outside had a miscommunication reff'ing error the previous kickball week, where they were supposed to provide a head ref for my game. We had to get a random bystander to sub in for an inning.
The newsletter should give a warning to EVERYONE, explaining that the next team to not provide refs will forfeit, whether or not they missed it before.

We will be working on this issue ASAP. As one of the Head Ref, you know we will take this convo offline in order to get what is responsible to the division as a whole. We all know the rules if this happends. We will make sure the teams in question will be reminded of this.

I don't think anyone needs a stern talking to. Everyone was made aware of the rules and their reffing duties at the beginning of the season. PLUS M'Anwilli sent out the revised schedule reminding everyone about the games just days before. If this were Week 1 or 2, maybe I'd feel different, but just give 'em the forfeit and move on.
If I can manage to have two spare refs available for almost every game we ref, they can certainly cough up one.

Its actually not a forfeit in the sense of a loss, its a Paper Forfeit...which from what I can figure out pretty much means nothing unless you plan on doing it like 3 times, in which case you cant be in the playoffs.
3.04 Referees will be designated and furnished for games as provided for by the division. A division may schedule and designate teams to provide referees. A team failing to provide sufficient referees in accordance with the division schedule will result in a "paper" forfeit in the team's record which will count toward its total number offorfeits. This paper forfeit does not count as a loss.

So I guess the question would then be what does that mean for the Wackos....we've still rescheduled even thought they didnt provide refs or players to scrimmage...so on the pretty solid chance that we lose to them, is that still a game....I guess what I'm saying is that while I understand the paper forfeit, is it in addition to the win/loss of the game that was supposed to be played that day, or does it replace it?
